Self HelpThe anxiety and depressive disorders are the commonest mental disorders and people with these disorders are often disabled. There are effective treatments for all these disorders, the problem is that even in the wealthy countries like the US, Canada, England or Australia, less than a quarter of sufferers get proven treatments. Clearly we need to do two things: help people to help themselves, and inform people so they can choose wisely if treatment is available. CRUfAD and the WHO Collaborating Centre bring clinical expertise to a public health approach. This self help section is therefore an attempt to get information to people who are not presently being properly treated.
